Mario De Leo was born in Ruvo of Puglia, Bari, in 1944.
He moved to Milan in the early sixties; in those years alternate the painter’s work with the musician working with the teacher Giancarlo Disnan, curator of the arrangements of all his compositions.
De Leo uses drawing, sculpture and painting as the basis for the various techniques.
In 1984 he debuted in Milan and participated in awards, competitions, thematic reviews and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Launches on personal show in 1987 in Milan; since then he has set up exhibitions in private galleries and public bodies. His works are on permanent exhibition in national and international museums: “Young Museum” in Mantova, “Ruffano Civic Art Gallery” in Lecce, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Taverna, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Lissone, Milan and Guang Dong Museum of Art in Canton (China).
In 2011 it is reported by prof. Vittorio Sgarbi for the “54th Venice International Art Biennale – Padiglione Italia for 150 ° of the Italian Unity” project in Turin, Sala Nervi.
He lives in Monza and works in Lissone.
